GTI National Squad Training

The GTI squad is open to all GTI members. You need to train regularly at a GTI club to be a part of the squad. We aim to improve the competitive aspect of your Taekwondo training with like-minded students. You can rely on us to get your physical fitness, technical ability and performance to be taken to a new level. 

We sponsor GTI squad members to compete in tournaments around the UK and abroad. We also encourage any student who wishes to put themselves forward for selection into the GTI squad. Though team selection is normally limited to dan grades we also encourage those coloured belts who wish to improve their competitive sparring skills to attend these sessions as we are always on the lookout for new talent who are working their way up through the ranks towards the coveted black belt.

The selection criteria includes:

• Performance at GTI and non GTI competitions
• Attendance and performance at squad sessions
• Attitude towards instructors, squad members and competitors
• Future prospects
• Fitness level
• Where applicable, black belt and weight

Cost to attend a Squad Session is £10.
