The black belt competitors rankings table for the current 2025-2026 season is shown below. This season commenced with the English Open Championships on 9th February 2025. The final event of the ten tournament series will end with the British Open Championships on 30th November 2026.
The GTI Best Black Belt Competitor Awards
How the points are awarded:
Black Belts who compete in Sparring or Patterns are awarded points* as follows:
Gold – 3 Silver – 2 Bronze – 1
After the final event of the season those shown at the top of each division win the
GTI Best Black Belt Competitor Award.
The following will apply:
• A minimum of 12 points is required to be eligible to win the award (introduced 2018).
• Two awards will be given if two competitors tie.
• No award is given if three or more competitors tie for first place.
• The Veterans’ sparring divisions have their own separate table and awards. (NB. When sufficient entrants allow).
• *Points will not be awarded in the event of a competitor gaining a medal by default and therefore not had a competitive match in their division.
When two or more competitors have the same amount of points they are listed in alphabetical order by surname.
