Founded in February 1993, Global Tae Kwon-Do International (GTI) was established by a group of likeminded Instructors like Master Tony Sewell, Master George Cockburn, Master Clive Harrison, Mr. Frank Murphy, Mr. Kim Stones, Mr. Alan Sparks, UFC Fighter Mark Weir and many others that left the TAGB who wished to belong to a Governing Body which would not only offer a first class service to promote their martial art, but also that it would operate in a manner that was truly democratic and therefore accountable to its membership.
The GTI operates as a non-profit making organisation and has Schools situated throughout the UK & the Republic of Ireland. Management of the Association is via an elected Committee and consists of some of the most senior Tae Kwon-Do Instructors in the country.
All of our Instructors undergo a specialised Instructors’ course, are CRB (Criminal Record Bureau) checked, undergone First Aid training to Health and Safety Executive (HSE) instructions and guidelines and have full professional indemnity insurance cover.
In addition to the above the GTI also offers:
- Coloured & Black Belt Certification
- Regular Competitions and Seminars
- Umpire & Referee Certified Courses
